06 Jan 2009 Year Around Activities in the Beautiful Winter Park, Colorado

The Bear Paw Inn is a log cabin styled lodge in Winter Park Colorado. If you have ever imagined living in the Colorado wilderness, then you have probably imagined the beauty of this lodge nestled in the Rocky Mountain National Park and situated in the Continental Divide.

The cool, crisp, mountain air outside the lodge carries with the breeze the distinctive aroma of the nearby fir, spruce and pine trees.

Colorado’s “snowiest resort” is also one of Colorado’s most easily accessible resorts, when arriving in Colorado at the Denver International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, one only needs to travel down to I-40 and drive one-and-a-half hours west on I-40, then 8 miles north to Winter Park. If you have never been to Colorado, I-40 west out of Denver is a nice drive, through one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado.

The Bear Paw Inn is a secluded, romantic and quiet Bed and Breakfast getaway, where snow falls in the winter and logs burn in the fireplace, located just minutes from world-class skiing at either WinterPark Resort, Silver Creek Resort or the U.S. Olympic training center for cross country skiing. Winter activities also include dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice skating, tubing, and horse-drawn sleigh rides which include dinner. Nearby, you will also find the newly renovated Hot Sulfur Springs Resort Baths.

During the summer, its beauty is just as astounding, as it is popular for its hot air ballooning, white water rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding, fly fishing, weekly rodeos and music festivals, and golf at the nearby PoleCreek Golf Club - voted the #1 golf course in Colorado. Just a short drive away, you will also find the beautiful town of Grand Lake, where you can drive the spectacular Trail Ridge Road inside the Rocky Mountain National Park. It is the highest contiguous paved highway in North America.

The Master Bedroom of the Bear Paw Inn B&B has a private entrance, a private deck with a swing, a new marble and slate bath with a Jacuzzi for two, and an incredible view.

The Devil’s Thumb suite offers a sleigh bed with antique dresser, private bath and a Jacuzzi tub. The views from this room include Indian Peaks and Devil’s Thumb.
